POTENTIAL WALKERS AND CREW MEMBERS:

**Carolyn sent out this e-mail to all employees, but I wanted to also post it on the blog for anybody else who might be interested.**

"I wanted to touch bases with everyone who might be considering joining this year’s team as either a walker or a crew. Let me start by talking about last year’s walk. Being a part of the SGK 3 Day was one of the most amazing events I will ever experience. It does come with extreme disciple and hard work and is not for everyone. You do have a choice and there is no shame in joining as a crew member versus a walker. Actually the crew is a critical part of our training, as we need your help and support throughout the year - especially at the event to support not only Team HP but all 3 Day walkers. Let me first talk about joining as a walker: you will need to train throughout the year, this includes walking during lunch hours at the office with other walkers and at home by yourself. At the height of training you should be walking every other day at least 7-10 miles. SGF has a website and offers many resources to help you while you train, including a personalized training schedule. Once at the walk you, feed off good training and adrenalin to get you through. And believe me you are so hyped up you could almost fly! Also, you will need to do some fundraising. This year each person is responsible for planning 1 event, examples would be car washes (Puyallup office parking lot available), bake sales, etc. There is an online resource to help you plan your fundraising. Fundraising sounds scary but after watching us last year, you saw that it was a piece of cake. Our hope is that you can raise $1,000 on your own, toward the $2300 amount needed to walk. You will be surprised with the amount of people that will step up and support this cause. Breast Cancer strikes one in eight women. It is very likely people you know have been affected. The rest of the $$ is up to us as a team. And should you find yourself short at the end, we can help. As a group we will have a 2nd Annual Garage Sale and sales of bracelets and gear in the offices. Please let all your friends, Facebook friends, and family know to start saving all their goodwill donations and consider donating to Team HP. I would be happy to pick up all donations, including furniture and large items and keep them stored until the sale next year. I encourage you to ask questions and consider being a walker.

If walking isn’t what you would most enjoy then consider joining as Crew. There is no registration fee (unless you plan on being a crew member at the 3 Day walk itself). These are our right hand folks that help with fundraising, planning and cheering. The commitments are less but the experience is just as great. For without Crew we are only but a few. Crew helps to plan our annual garage sale, bake sales etc. They help with marketing and all the details necessary to pull this off. Crew comes out the weekend of the walk, dressed in pink costumes to help support us and all the walkers. This is a fun way to stay involved and give back. I hope you would consider joining us as Crew.

Our first team meeting will be held in January, possibly around the 21st, somewhere downtown Tacoma. Central to both offices. Can I count on you to be there?"

**As I stated above, Carolyn did send this e-mail to all Kalles employees. However I wanted to make sure others who might be interested, could contact us. (I also might have made a few minor changes in the script.)**
